Social media has been a fun place for Rangers fans this season and it’s only going to get better.
One time Celtic forward, Simon Donnelly, who – if you believed his social media – appears to have been a better striker in his own head than everyone else can remember, has not been taking the demise of his beloved team at all well and only served to apply further ammunition at the weekend with his latest post.
I wish Twitter existed 98 , hey ho π€·πΌββοΈ

If you are old enough to remember, Donnelly was part of the Celtic squad that ended Rangers dominance throughout the 90s when they scraped over the line on the last day of the season despite a series of calamities at Ibrox frequently leaving the door open for them.
Needless to say Gers fans have had a lot of fun with a player who was once wildly claimed to be the “next Kenny Dalglish“:
I was on 8 so I have no memory of 98 Simon. Can you fill me in. Were Rangers this bad when your lot stopped the 10!? Was it this laughable?

Donβt be living in the past now Simon. Did you not jump ship in 98 too.

Nah! Our fans wouldnβt have behaved like self entitled brats like your lot have, thatβs why itβs get it right up you time! If you want to try for 9 again it would be more impressive with Rangers in the league … just like 98 π- enjoy our celebrations π΄βͺοΈπ΅55π

Social media/Twitter may not have been around in 1998 but rest assured, if it was, Rangers fans wouldn’t be blaming conspiracies, the government or how many buses they have to take to away games, the players would be getting it with both barrels after giving up a league title to one of the worst winners in our lifetime.
