We’ve seen throughout the season how Celtic and their fans have gone through the entire grief reaction to their calamitous attempts at winning “the 10”, and some, appear to still be stuck on denial.

Speaking to Football Insider, Frank McAvennie has shown that he isn’t taking it at all well, and of all the takes from the 4-1 hammering of his side, his is the most bitter.

Rather than look at Celtic’s failings he decided to make absurd claims about the fortune enjoyed by Rangers and in particular Alfredo Morelos:

“Morelos got lucky megging Scott Brown.

“That’s not a criticism of Scott, he went out to get the ball but Morelos got a bit of luck there.

“The strike was wonderful but for me, there were two elements after that.

“One, Ajer ducked and turned his back on it. Two, I think a good keeper saves that, it was two inches away from him.

“Morelos, he got lucky but in fairness, he took advantage of it and it was a magnificent hit.”

Every sentence is the perfect example of why Rangers are 23 points clear and have been league champions for two months – they still think it is 2016/17 and that our players are inferior to theirs.

Morelos knew exactly what he was doing when he nutmegged Brown, he tries that all the time, some times it comes off, sometimes it doesn’t. But after that, the power and the accuracy of the shot deserves nothing other than praise.

It may have been close to where Scott Bain was positioned but he would have seen it late and the pace that it was hit with left him little chance to do anything about it, as for Kris Ajer, I’m not sure what his lack of defensive ability has to do with the quality of El Bufalo’s strike.

If anyone got lucky it was Celtic, lucky it wasn’t more than four.
