Poor little Celtic and their depleted squad that bravely secured all three points against mighty Ross County with a last minute, sorry, last minute plus one winner.

Those pesky corrupt referees eh?

It’s incredible the narrative that is being spun just now, picking up three points is always all that matters and yes, they have a few forwards out but they still had nine first-team regulars with Greg Taylor and Tom Rogic on the bench, they didn’t have many options, however, they should still have been comfortable against a team struggling for points.

Rangers had Borna Barisic playing when he was ill – he had to go of in the second-half – Filip Helander and Leon Balogun missing from the heart of the defence, Ryan Jack from midfield and Kemar Roofe still unavailable – only one player less than they have missing plus one who, on any other day would have been given the night off.

Our bench still featured internationals and players that could be brought on to make a difference without the names mentioned above.

What it does tell us is that our squad depth is significantly stronger than theirs and that, unless Ange Postecoglu makes changes to the way that he manages his team, they will continue to have players out injured and will, eventually, drop points when they aren’t playing against the likes of Ross County away or Motherwell at home.

Concentrate on ourselves, maintain the momentum we have built up under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the new year derby really could be something quite special – whilst those across the city continue to pat themselves on the back with feint praise.
