Rangers are currently flying both on and off the park with the club finally moving in the right direction together.

A recent partnership is one that may have gone under the radar but is nonetheless equally as important as the headline grabbing sponsorship deals, one that sees the Light Blues link up with Universal Centre of Sport in a move that could see future analysts, coaches and scouts gain access to our players and facilities.

Football finance expert, Kieran Maguire, believes that it is a shrewd move by the club and reveals how it could be of a huge benefit further down the line, in an interview with Football Insider:

“I think the club quite likes it from a point of corporate social responsibility.

“They are keen to promote activities for health and education, so it fits in with that. It will also allow them to offer internships and get people to work on projects and things of this nature and that will allow them to assess how good these people are.

“So potentially, they can benefit because every time you employ somebody, you are taking on risk.

“If you have already established a relationship with these young people, they can over a period of time find out who is talented and fits in with the values of the club. It can improve the long-term office staff.

“I think football clubs see education as a way of improving relations with the local community and also identify talent which can be used in off-the-pitch activities.”

Everything that a football club does for/with it’s community will always have a dual purpose, whether it is coaching clinics, summer camps for young players or this latest initiative, there is something to be gained.

We have learned the hard way that replacing a playing squad and management team every couple of years in unsustainable, partnerships like this ensure that Rangers will constantly be identifying new talent capable of continuing the good work off the pitch, that allows those on it, to do what they do best.
