Rangers injury problems are widely ignored by the Scottish media, one recent statistic providing α startling insight into what Giovanni van Bronckhorst has had to contend with since replacing Steven Gerrard – an average of seven senior players missing from his first-team squad every game, that’s an average remember so, on some weeks, even more, will be absent.

We have started to get players back in recent weeks though with Rabbi Matondo, Ben Davies and Kemar Roofe all set to play α part in the coming weeks, it’s just α shame that Tom Lawrence has suffered α new injury as he was about to return too.

This still leaves the likes of John Souttar, Filip Helander and Ianis Hagi joining Lawrence in being out until after the World Cup in α crisis that Celtic would have demanded get football shut down again, this season they won’t be as lucky and will have to do what everyone else does and just get on with it.

Their defence is already creaking with Cameron Carter-Vickers missing and now, they might have to do without their skipper, and best player, in Callum McGregor – Ange Postecoglou confirming that it doesn’t look good for the Scotland international:

“It doesn’t look good. We were a bit unlucky with the goal. He (McGregor) was about to have a shot and something happened between his knee, he put an enormous effort to chase back and it was his toe poke which put the guy through. Looking at him, it doesn’t look good, but I will see what the doctor says.”

Celtic took full advantage of our problems last season, hopefully, we can repay the favour this time around.
