If Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to be really aggressive over the next few weeks, there is one option that he could go with to give Rangers one of the fastest forward lines that we have ever seen at the club.

Ianis Hagi would appear to be the natural choice to play at number ten in Joe Aribo’s absence having started and scored against Aberdeen but if Ryan Kent moves inside one position, it would open the door for Fashion Sakala to get a run in the team.

Sakala has one of the best goals/minutes played ratios at the club and yet he has never had a consistent run of games to find his feet, not only this but, Kent is used to playing in a more narrow position from his time working under Steven Gerrard. His ability to use both feet could see him cause a lot of problems for opposition defences.

There is one game in particular where this additional pace could come in handy – February’s rearranged Old Firm.

From which country does Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist come from?

As seen against Hibs, Celtic leave a lot of space behind their midfield and by playing with fast forwards – with Alfredo Morelos to hold the ball up – we could exploit this weakness to great effect, Hagi is intelligent but he is very much a horses for courses type of player, other than his goal, he wasn’t anywhere near as influentional as the man he was covering for.

Pace is one attribute that allows average players to play above their technical ability, it gets them into positions that they normally wouldn’t be able to get into and causes uncertainty, having three players with a similar skillset would be an exciting prospect.
