Rangers commercial team are more than taking advantage of the side’s recent on-field success and, after a stuttering start, Castore are finally impressing as the merchandise partner.

Their latest release – a commemorative home shirt – has been snapped up in it’s thousands which means only one thing, more money in the coffers, and football finance expert, Kevin Maguire, believes that it can only be a success for everyone involved, in an interview with Football Insider.

“On a standard deal, clubs are usually on seven per cent. So what happens is you agree a fee for manufacturing your kit and then agree on a percentage on top of that fixed amount.

“I imagine that for this particular kit, Rangers will be demanding a higher percentage, and rightly so. I’d also anticipate that people will be fighting over getting them.

“This is something that Rangers fans have waited a long time for. It’s not cheap but as a memento, I can only imagine that fans will be very keen to get their hands on them.

“Castore made some mistakes nine months ago but I think they’ve learned from them.”

The partnership with Rangers is Castore’s first venture into football and they – unfortunately – learned the hard way, yes, there were teething problems that couldn’t be helped, such as the small issue of a global pandemic, but they now have an idea of the scale and demand that will be met every season.
