Fortune favours the brave. Or, in Rangers case, you are more likely to get on the end of a rebound if you commit more bodies to the box.
Michael Beale spoke after we beat Raith Rovers about players like Ryan Kent and Todd Cantwell being more proactive in terms of their positioning and urged them to make the sort of runs that could see them add more goals to their game.
For a player of Kent’s ability to have just six in the last two seasons and for Cantwell to score his first in the same period is incredible when you look at how talented they are.

The good thing is, it isn’t just the manager who is pushing our attacking midfielders to get involved in the final third more after the former Norwich City midfielder revealed to Sky Sports that the Gers skipper has also been pushing him on when asked about scoring his first goal for the club:
“Delighted. Tav’s been hammering me about playing higher up and making sure I’m not just on the ball making passes from behind, but that I’m on the end of them. He’ll be pleased for me!”
With two centre-halves frequently marking just one striker and two more defensive midfielders in front of them, there really isn’t an excuse for Cantwell or Kent to be outside the box when the ball goes wide or gets the the byline, if we are to progress then they need to be pushing double figures for goals and assists and they won’t do that from 30 yards away from goal.
Fir Park was a start, hopefully, they can keep it up.
