Bitterness of the BBC, disrespect of the Champions continues

Another Scottish Premiership season, another year where the BBC doesn’t represent our club equally.

For the last nine years we’ve had to listen to Liam McLeod wax lyrical about the “champions”, week after week we would hear Celtic referred to by their alter ego on the Sportscene highlights package, of course, now that the tide has turned he is giving us the same treatment, isn’t he?

Yeah, not so much.

Not once in his commentary of our 4-2 win over Ross County did he mention our current status either in the build up, during the game or as part of his summary, I can’t say I’m surprised though given what we have already seen in the last seven days.

Who scored Rangers first ever goal under Steven Gerrard in EL qualification?

Aberdeen were praised for only losing to Qarabag 1-0, whilst St Johnstone were – rightly – given credit for their 1-1 draw away to Austrian’s LASK, but, how was Rangers 1-0 win of Alashkert reported by our publicly funded broadcaster, a game we won after going down to ten men?

“Ten-men Rangers avoided a sobering draw at home to Alashkert.”

It’s nothing new for Rangers fans but it doesn’t make it any less annoying.

BBC Scotland is covering the second-leg of our tie with Alashkert this week in which they will have no interviews with management or players and just a 15 minute introduction before the game kicks-off, again, we are being short changed with the money we are putting into their organisation.

We don’t want favouritism, just parity, is that really too much to ask?
