Rangers are lucky to have 22-year-old as interesting report emerges – opinion

Rangers’ squad is full of talented players, and forward Alfredo Morelos is up there with the best of them. The attacker has been crucial for us this season, and at just 22-years-old, we’re so excited to see how good he will become over the next few years.

In truth, when we signed him, we didn’t really know what we were getting, but as it turns out, the Columbian was a bit of a coup from the get-go.

A recent report from the Daily Record has revealed the inside track on his arrival at Rangers, and after a stunning season with HJK Helsinki – where he bagged an incredible 30 goals in 43 games – he chose to move to Rangers despite interest elsewhere. Specifically, an offer from Spain apparently came his way, yet he chose to move to Ibrox as he viewed it as a better move for the sake of his career.

Rangers, then, it turns out, were pretty lucky to land him.

Most, perhaps, weren’t aware of what his record really was prior to his move, but the form he enjoyed in the lead-up to his big move was sensational, and only now is he beginning to show that kind of form in Scotland.

Perhaps more important, though, is the simple fact that he wanted to come here. It wasn’t just a case of coming to Rangers simply as a means of leaving his previous club and finding somewhere better. He chose to come to Scotland, and he chose to come to Ibrox, and that bodes so well for us for the future.

He clearly recognises what it means to play for the Gers, and he clearly wants to do his best for the club.

Players like that are becoming increasingly hard to come by, and so for Rangers, Morelos is the perfect player. We’re lucky to have him.
