It seems like every transfer window since Alfredo Morelos arrived he has been linked with a move away from the club but his time in Glasgow might not be up yet.

On the back of The Daily Record claiming that Champions League football with Rangers could be enough to tempt him to stay for one more season, there is another reason that has not been talked about that could benefit him whatever he decides to do – he can now speak English.

Morelos has obviously been shielded from interviews in recent seasons but it was telling that his first in a foreign language was after one of his finest displays in a Light Blue shirt.

He hasn’t been learning English purely because he plans on spending the rest of his career at Ibrox – not that it wouldn’t be appreciated – it will help him on and off the pitch in the short-term and shows that he is determined to do his absolute best whilst he is here, but it also makes him a more desirable prospect for Premier League sides, being able to understand instructions and team-mates without the need for an interpreter could be the decider for a recruitment team when putting their targets in order.

Will Morelos play in the Champions League for Rangers?

With fewer scouts and representatives of clubs being allowed into grounds or being able to travel, watching the same coverage as the common fan will be a key part of player analysis as well as using data/footage from places like WyScout – Morelos giving his first interview in English after playing Livingston on Wednesday night just wouldn’t have the same effect or get the same coverage than after a game where he has again confirmed himself as one of the continent’s best.
