Rangers have agreed personal terms with Motherwell attacker Jake Hastie, according to website Football Insider.

The outlet say that a club source has revealed the 21-year-old will sign a four-year deal on a pre-contract basis at an eye watering £15,000-a-week, rewarded with a massive wage hike from his current salary Fir Park.

While that figure appears outlandish, they certainly seem confident in their assertion that the winger is on his way to Ibrox this summer.

Hastie has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in the Scottish top-flight over the last couple of months, scoring six goals in twelve matches after getting his first sustained run in the Motherwell first-team.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, he’s likely had many suitors, so bringing him to Rangers would appear to be good business by the Ibrox recruitment team.

His arrival could be timely too, with Ryan Kent almost certainly heading back to Liverpool at the end of his loan, as reported by The Daily Record earlier this week.

Kent’s importance to the team was evident today against Celtic and we will badly need wide attacking options to cover his contribution when the new season kicks off.
