Rangers ace reveals chat with legend before signing at Ibrox

|

Quoted by talkSPORT, Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has revealed the chat he had with Ibrox legend Graeme Souness before signing for the Gers on loan from Bournemouth.

The striker has just turned 37 but there are no signs that he is slowing down at the moment, with him a leading contender for the Golden Boot in the Scottish Premiership right now.

Indeed, he and Alfredo Morelos are key reasons why we could well win the title this season and fans have taken to him quickly, thanks to his goals and all-round commitment to being the best he can be.

And, indeed, he revealed that Graeme Souness told him that he’ll love it up here if he goes about things the right way.

Defoe said:

“It’s funny because before I signed I spoke to Graeme Souness and we spoke about the Old Firm and Rangers and this was before there was any contact and he said it was the best game in the world.

“I bumped into him again when I was on the flight up to sign and he said ‘if you go there and do it right then trust me, you will love it’.”

So far, the former Tottenham and Portsmouth striker has done everything right at Ibrox and he looks like he has years ahead of him still.

Long may that continue.
