Speaking to Rangers TV, Rangers attacking Jamie Murphy has reflected on his return to the Ibrox pitch on Sunday afternoon and some of the setbacks he suffered whilst recovering.
We all know how talented a player he is but after over a year out following a horrible injury, we probably wondered whether he would return to the side, as well as be good enough to play for us.
The jury is going to be out on the latter until he gets up to speed, of course, but he was back on the pitch once the game was won against Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.
Indeed, it’s been a long road back but he is there now, and he discussed how good it felt after suffering setbacks along the way.
He said:
“It meant a lot. It’s been a hard road back, there’s been a few setbacks so it’s good to finally get back out in front of the fans.”
He got a class reception at the ground and on social media and hopefully he will continue to improve and get back to the level he was at.
