Rangers have enjoyed a chaotic start to the season but now face the unusual situation of playing the next couple of games with a week’s rest in between, something that will be welcomed given the current injury issues at the club.

It never seems to be fringe players that miss games for us with Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe all on the sidelines, their absence from the squad is certainly one that is felt on a match day, whether that is from the start or off the bench.

Here is the line-up I’d expect us to go with:

The luxury of not having to rotate players for the next couple of weeks will be greatly appreciated by Steven Gerrard, especially with Steven Davis still playing a pivotal role in midfield, at least Bongani Zungu can come on to give him a breather if it is needed.

There are only a couple of decisions that need to be made in defence and attack, whether to stick with Leon Balogun or bring Filip Helander back in for the more physical challenges of Sam Cosgrove and Curtis Main, the big Swede gets the nod for me.

In attack, much will depend on the fitness of Roofe, although it’s hard to argue against Ianis Hagi‘s claims for a starting role, he made an immediate impression against Celtic and was also on a decent run in the fixtures leading up to the Old Firm.

If we can start with a decent intensity, control the ball and tempo of the game, we should see a repeat of the two previous meetings between the sides, but, as always, three points is all that matters and how they are achieved is almost irrelevant.
