‘Ran the show’, ‘Humble pie’ – Criticised Rangers man wins over fans vs Vienna

Ovie Ejaria in action for Rangers

Rangers bounced back from defeat at the weekend to produce a dazzling performance at home to Rapid Vienna on Thursday night, winning 3-1 in UEFA Europa League action.

Steven Gerrard’s side had Ibrox rocking despite going behind in the match, scoring three well taken goals to go top of Group G in the competition.

The win follows on from an impressive draw away to Villarreal on matchday one, with the Gers now unbeaten in 10 European matches under the Liverpool icon.

It was another Liverpool man who impressed many most of all too, with Ovie Ejaria excelling in midfield to really take the game to Austrian visitors in the second half.

On loan from the Anfield side, he won over supporters with his performance after being heavily criticised in the wake of Sunday’s loss to Livingston.
