Queens Park Rangers and former Manchester United youngster Sean Goss has moved to Rangers on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign.
The 22 year old made the switch to Loftus Road last January from Old Trafford and now heads to Ibrox looking for increased game time.
Goss was born in Germany, moving to England aged eight having been offered the chance to sign for Exeter City’s Academy. Having spent eight years with them, he made the move to United in 2012.
Whilst he never made his competitive United debut he was involved in first team training and during pre season, making his non competitive debut in a game against Paris Saint-Germain on a tour of the USA back in 2015.
Whilst with QPR he has made three starting appearances and three substitute showings.
Speaking to the Official Site as his capture was announced, the player described the move as a ‘no brainer’.
‘For me it`s a no-brainer really. Rangers is a massive football club with a massive fanbase as well, and being out there seeing the stadium was unbelievable. So for me it was a no-brainer and I couldn`t wait to get here. I know it is a tough league and there is a lot expected of the Rangers players. That is why I`m here – I want to challenge myself at a big club and I can`t wait to get going. It`s been frustrating for me personally the last year or so with game time, but I`m hoping to come here and do well for this club. The experience of playing for Manchester United will help. They are both massive clubs with a lot of fans all over the world. I am hoping to bring that experience with me.’
Speaking about his style of play with some comparisons to Michael Carrick, he added.
‘I`m a defensive midfielder who likes to get on the ball from the back four and spread passes around. I also like to think I have goals in my game, so I will be trying to get forward as much as I can as well. I`d like to start the play off from the defence, get on the ball as much as I can and dictate the play. I also have that nasty side to me as well, and will get stuck in.’
