Pundit urges Gerrard to make drastic Rangers decision after Celtic defeat

|

BeIN Sports pundit Andy Gray reckons Steven Gerrard should take the decision to sell Alfredo Morelos this summer after Sunday’s red card against Celtic.

The Colombian received his marching orders for the fifth time this season in the derby defeat, letting his teammates, coaching staff and supporters down.

Rangers-supporting Gray was furious with his actions and if it was up to him, the 22-year-old would not be at Ibrox next season.

Speaking on beIN Sports, the 63-year-old said:

I’d sell him if I was Steven Gerrard. I seriously would have to think of selling him. Five times. It’s cost Rangers eight points – that’s nearly the difference between Rangers and Celtic right now.

Against who [has he scored]? Not in games that mattered because he’s not been playing in games that mattered. He’s been sitting in the dressing room with himself and his thoughts. Good luck to them there.

If I was a centre-back I’d be winding him up from the first minute because he’s a loose cannon.

Gerrard and the club now have big decisions to make ahead of the summer transfer window. Whether clubs will even be interested in the player because of his disciplinary records remains to be seen.

A big fee for the striker would allow us to strengthen elsewhere in the team as well as bring in a striker who can not only score goals but keep his head in the big matches that define our season.
