Newcastle United are said to be keen to sign Alfredo Morelos as a report in The Scottish Sun reveals the Tyneside club’s shopping list when their takeover is confirmed.
Paddy Power released a list of players who are likely to join the Magpies and the Colombian international is 11/2 to make the short journey across the border before January 2021.
A spokesman for Paddy Power compared the takeover to the one that saw Manchester City become one of the country’s most prominent sides and backed the potential move for Morelos:
“There’s been a lot of talk about which mega-stars they could sign, like when Man City landed Robinho – but the true success of City was building the core of the squad.
“If Newcastle go out and buy McGinn and Morelos, that’s a pretty good start.”
For a Premeir League club, Morelos would be a bargain, as Alan Hutton once told, scouts in the Premier League looking at players in Scotland very rarely take any notice of domestic form, instead preferring to analyse continental and international performances.
