Several changes are surely expected at Rangers this summer as the Gers look to reel in Celtic up at the top of the league.

Steven Gerrard will know who he wants to keep and who he wants to let go in this window and now the action must unfold accordingly.

According to Football Insider, then, we’ve made a big money offer for Joe Aribo that will see him enjoy a big pay hike if he signs.

An attacking midfielder, the plan must be for him to feature regularly in behind the main striker but it makes you wonder, therefore, about the future of young Greg Docherty.

At a similar age to Aribo, Docherty enjoyed a good season in League One last year with Shrewsbury Town and must have hoped that that would lead him to more minutes in front of the Ibrox faithful.

However, Aribo arriving places a stumbling block in front of him and, though if he can get into the side past Aribo that’ll be a good sign for us in terms of competition for places, it also could be argued that a loan deal might be on the way again for him.

  • The amount of players Gerrard is reported to be wanting to sign and the rangers players he wants to send out on loan does not give confidence to the up and coming players in the wings at Rangers.
He has a wealth of talent at Ibrox which he is not utelising and he is bringing in players which are a STOP GAP MEASURE.
Gerrard is losing the plot he has Docherty,Middleton Mccrorie but he still wants to bring in players on loan why should Rangers develop them for other clubs we have a ton of talent we dont need loan
Of the loan players last season Kent was the only success come on Gerrard give Rangers players the chance before they get the impression there is no hope of first team football at Ibrox

  • Agree we need to use youth who are above par but we need to off load players who simply arent, players who would shine against lesser opposition but struggle against stronger opposition, i think SG will wait till he sees what he has then move a lot on or out on loan, but totally agree on Docherty & Rossiter, both are class & lesser players seem to be ahead of them for some reason.

  • In stevie we got to trust and back,am sure if there was any stand out young yins they would be in first team, just look at Kent for example, we haven’t got a young fella anywhere near his talent, granted we got good few prospects but these boys still not at first team standard, but hopefully in time that will change in time

  • Greg Docherty has the potential to be a fantastic Rangers player. I agree with another loan spell as he will mature and blossom as an exiting midfielder with fantastic potential.
