Positive update delivered by key figure concerning potential Rangers exit

|

Speaking to talkSPORT and the Jim White show, Derby County owner Mel Morris has rubbished talk of Steven Gerrard heading to Pride Park from Rangers.

The Rams are looking set to lose Frank Lampard as their manager to his former side in Chelsea and so a vacancy could well be available there sooner rather than later.

Indeed, we are going to be worried that clubs in England are going to look at our manager after a solid start to his career in the dugout last season for us.

However, it appears as though Derby will not be looking to bring him in with Morris putting the rumour to bed pretty emphatically.

He said when asked what he thought of the rumours:

“Absolute rubbish.”

This is good for us, then.

To be honest, I can’t see Steven wanting to leave just yet given what this season could hold.

We have Celtic in our sights, surely he wants to be the man to rid them from the top of the league?
