Rangers have been linked with a move for Ravel Morrison this January after he followed club social media accounts this week, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The former Manchester United prospect is now on the fringes Lazio’s squad in Serie A, having failed to make a career for himself in Italy.

His most recent burst of first-team football came last season at Mexican side Atlas, where he made 25 appearances.

Now 25 years of age, Morrison was once one of the biggest prospects in English football, but has failed to live up to that potential after a series of off the field personal and legal problems.

Still, he has serious talent and although bringing him to Rangers could be seen as a risk, Steven Gerrard may see something in him that can be a massive benefit to the club.

Supporters appear to be generally in favour of a move for the creative midfielder, with many noting that he is the kind of attacking force we’ve been missing so far this season.

Could he be the missing link between midfield and attack we’ve been crying out for?
