One of the most pleasing things about this summer’s transfer window hasn’t just been Rangers’ ability to improve the first-team squad massively at Ibrox, but also witness Celtic struggle through the process of strengthening.
Only one player has arrived that hadn’t played a game for them before this season and they’ve also lost the likes of Stuart Armstrong in midfield.
With their best defender Dedryck Boyata downing tools, it’s left them in a state of defensive desperation heading towards the end of August.
One player they’re reported to be interested in is Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna, with outlets like The Daily Mail saying that they’ve had a £3.5m bid rejected for him.
That’s an awful lot of money for an Aberdeen defender and despite any potential he might have, is barely an improvement on what they already have.
Many Rangers fans have taken great joy in the likes, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
People think there’s too much hatred between Old Firm fans but can I just say I wish them nothing but success in their pursuit of Scott McKenna.

Especially if they end up paying over £4m for him. We should throw them a party.

As a Rangers fan and someone who hasn't supported the national team since around 1996, I'm sure McKenna & Hendry will be a fantastic central defensive partnership and really hope it works out like I anticipate…
