I have been greatly anticipating the return of Graham Dorrans to first team duties. By the sound of things, he is close to being fully fit again. He did play in a development match against Brentford before the international break, and since then there have been no news of another injury setback.

The ankle injury he picked up against Killie back in October was a significant blow following a very bright start to his career at Ibrox. Five goals and two assists in 10 Premiership starts was seriously impressive, and to have that sort of firepower back in the starting line up would be a tremendous boost.

I doubt he`ll be starting against Motherwell, but there`s a probably an outside chance he will be on the bench for the match. It will be interesting see where Graham Murty fits him into the team on his return though.

Josh Windass has made the number 10 role his own since his moved from his wide left position so a more advanced role in midfield is unlikely. A more withdrawn position in the middle of the park would be his likeliest avenue back into the starting lineup, with many of his best early season performances having been alongside Ryan Jack.

With January signings Greg Docherty and Sean Goss having taking the pair`s places in the side for the second half of the season though, it would be one of these two who would have to make way. With Greg`s ability to play as a box to box midfielder you would say he would be the likeliest to keep his place while Sean`s position in the starting XI looks more vulnerable.

The on loan QPR man has looked excellent at times with his range of passing, but his inability to match the physicality of the game in the Premiership is pretty concerning. His lack of experience could have to make way for the experience of our no.10 in the coming weeks, barring any setbacks in his injury recovery. Who should Dorrans replace? Let me know in the poll.
