We picked up a much-needed win over the weekend, with Steven Gerrard’s men enjoying a late-game flourish against St. Mirren. It’s been a tough few weeks, but that was the best sign in a while that things are on the up under Gerrard.

Fortunately, we’re returning to a competition in which we’ve done well this season tonight, the Europa League. It could give us another springboard from which to build, and that’s exactly what Glenn Middleton is likely hoping to use the game for.

We’re set to take on Spartak Moscow, and ahead of the game, Middleton has shared an image of him in training for the tie.

Middleton has found minutes hard to come by this season, but he’s enjoyed opportunities in a handful of Europa League games. He’s yet to truly get an opportunity on the field for an extended period of time – but could that happen this evening?

It will certainly be interesting to see if he will get an opportunity, as he’s got bags of talent.

A natural finisher with good energy and agility, Middleton is an individual with tremendous potential, and we’re hoping that he’ll get a proper another chance sooner, rather than later.

Thoughts?
