John Lundstram has provided a ringing endorsement of his teammate Malik Tillman as the great hope for Rangers.

The on-loan Bayern Munich attacker is yet to find consistency but his quality is not in doubt as he continues to adapt in his first full season as a first team player in the high pressure environment at Ibrox.

The German-born USA international has taken some flak for an apparent lack of work rate but Lundstram wants the fans and everyone else to recognise his significant qualities as well as asking for patience toward the 20-year old.

Lundstram stated following the Aberdeen game regarding Tillman:

“He’s massive for us and he’s a young kid. People need to stick behind him, lift him up and encourage him,” he said following Saturday’s 4-1 win.”

“Tell him how good he can be and how good he is. Because he’s phenomenal, his talent is up there with one of the best young talents I’ve seen. Stick with him, rather than saying he needs to be dropped if he has one bad game.”

Confidence

With Lundstram growing into a senior leadership role in the dressing room, his comments will have been appreciated by Tillman who is keen to keep expressing himself and developing further in Rangers colours.

The Aberdeen set-up played into his hands with the talented attacker able to exploit space to Rangers benefit including a deft assist for Antonio Colak’s equaliser. His talent and further potential is clear to see, now it is up to the player to make the most of the opportunity available to him.
