Rangers are looking to get themselves new players in this summer and plenty of rumours are doing the rounds as we get linked with several names.

One player that appears to have stuck around in the Rangers rumour mill, meanwhile, is George Edmundson as we look to add to our defensive options.

Indeed, Football Scotland has reported that we are looking to make a third bid for the player – which I personally hope is a ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ – and the race to get him appears to have got a little less competitive.

Indeed, head honcho at Peterborough United, Darragh MacAnthony, launched a tirade on Twitter about a player he was going for and how the deal has changed thanks to owners getting involved.

It’s believed, then, that by the likes of the Portsmouth News that the player he has pulled the plug on signing is Edmundson, and this could come as a boost with the Gers.

It seems as though Oldham are playing more than hardball at the moment, though, so we must now be ready to walk away if it doesn’t work out.

One Reply to “Path clears considerably for Rangers to try and seal deal”

  • Why are The Rangers hanging around and pandering to an Oldham Athletic? Offer the same cash as the last time plus a hundred quid. If they refuse again they can keep him and let’s move on. We can use the time trying to get other guys in.
