Rangers took Hibernian to the cleaners at Ibrox this afternoon as we hammered them 6-1 on what was a wet occasion in Glasgow.
The rivalry between the two sides is obvious and so was the gulf in class as we raced into a 2-0 lead – only to be pegged back towards the end of the half for it to be 2-1 at the break.
However, Hibs were not to get any nearer getting level with us after the interval, with the Gers turning on the style.
Jermain Defoe finished off his hat-trick, Alfredo Morelos came on and bagged and Sheyi Ojo also struck to leave the away side with their tails firmly between their legs.
A great game for the men from Ibrox, then, and Jermain Defoe obviously caught the eye with his performance up top.
Alfredo Morelos and the former England ace are going to be going hammer and tongs to start this season, and this should provide more big results like today’s.
Let’s take a look at the reaction to Defoe’s performance:
Thought wee jack as his usual class,Defoe's movement outstanding, then the bears can take him off after a hatrick and replace him with wee alfie,we look strong????????few of us got annoyed wi the gaffer last year for changing,he never had the tools, this yr he has,2 men for each position

Absolutely love the idea that Morelos was sitting on the bench, fuming about Defoe's hat trick, then came on with a point to prove.
