Rangers supporters were impressed by the performance of midfielder Steven Davis during Wednesday night’s 3-0 win over Hearts at Ibrox.
The January loan signing from Southampton has so far failed to really win a place in Steven Gerrard’s first-team but he did his chances of future action no harm at all with a dynamic midfield display last night.
Questions have been raised about the decision to bring him back to Ibrox, some even going so far to consider him as a failed signing, but if he can find consistent form then you’d have to say he has a future at the club.
His loan expires at the end of the season, but so does his contract at Saints, so he will be available on a free transfer.
Gerrard warned his players prior to the Hearts game that some of them were fighting for their Ibrox future and in Davis at least he found a convincing response.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his display…

Enjoyed the game tonight. Played well and was delighted to see Steven Davis show something like his old form.
And when the teams were announced at the start, guess who got the loudest cheer? That's right, Ryan Kent 👊👊👊 pic.twitter.com/6eRXAtxgzM— Jeff Holmes (@JeffH1960) April 3, 2019

Good to see Steven Davis setting down now. Really liked the balance of that midfield with Arfield coming in off the side. Best Rangers performance of the new year.
