With Rangers putting in a sterling performance against Aberdeen on the opening day of the 2018/19 Premiership campaign, there was some anticipation about who – and how many – players might make the opening division Team of the Week.
Nikola Katic straight into the @spfl team of the week on his Premiership debut ???????????? https://t.co/hVsrDXsMU8

Croatian Nikola Katic did his chances absolutely no harm with his own individual performance as we narrowly missed out on taking the victory despite spending the vast majority of the match down at ten men as Alfredo Morelos was harshly sent off in the tie.
Ryan Jack’s performance in the middle of the park also made him a strong contender to make the team of the week, and it’s fair to say a couple of others may have fancied themselves as outside chances to make an appearance.
The selection made by Craig Fowler limited each side to only one player and Katic took his attention.
Whilst welcoming his inclusion for his showing on his top-flight debut, plenty wondered where Jack was.
Ryan Jack is missing troops, best get that fixed before anyone sees it…
