With football understandably taking a pause at this moment in time with far greater things to worry about, late on Friday evening, Rangers confirmed that Dave King had stepped aside as Chairman of the club and announced that Douglas Park was our new Interim Chairman, with John Bennett being appointed as Deputy Chairman of the club.

The full statement from the club can be read by Clicking Here.

With King announcing his intention to step aside at the AGM back in November, he admitted himself that following the Coronavirus complications to our game, he had considered staying on until this period was over, but with plans already in place for Park and Bennett, and subsequent funding plans (although now stalled), he felt it was best to continue with the original plans – especially in light of his commitments to his South Africa business ventures and the impact they are suffering.

Fans on social media were quick to pay their thanks to the man.
