One Step Closer For Rangers & This Man More Than Justified His Inclusion

|

Rangers took to the Ibrox pitch earlier this evening looking to take one step closer to silverware in the 2018/19 season and we hosted Ayr United in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final.

Manager Steven Gerrard took the opportunity to rotate the pack and the likes of Wes Foderingham, Joe Worrall, Graham Dorrans and Glenn Middleton all got their opportunity to shine and get more match minutes under their belt as we juggle a number of competitions this year.

Nikola Katic opened the scoring on the evening before Glenn Middleton justified the faith shown in him by doubling our advantage just after the half-hour mark. Alfredo Morelos tied it up and 3-0 and there was no way back for Ayr at that stage, leaving youngster Middleton to complete his brace on the day and show exactly why he’s so highly rated at the club.

A solid win given the number of changes and Gerrard will be pleased with the uplift in options he now has given the number of fronts we are now fighting on.
