One of this season’s top Rangers performers could leave Ibrox this summer – it’s not Morelos

Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield is a transfer target for two English Premier League sides this summer, according to The Scottish Sun.

The paper say that Southampton and Crystal Palace are both settle to battle it for his signature, with Roy Hodgson said to be a keen admirer of the versatile Canadian international.

Both are said to value the 30-year-old at around £3m, which would surely make him the bargain buy of the summer considering his ability?

He’s scored 11 goals and assisted 7 times in all competitions for Steven Gerrard’s side this season, proving to be one of our most effective performers.

Having signed on a free transfer, he’s undoubtedly been one of Mark Allen’s recruitment successes over the last 18 months.

His form has been excellent in recent weeks too, reborn in a left wing role in support of Jermain Defoe and showing signs of having a monster 2019/20 season.

It all makes interest from the English Premier League rather worrying. Arfield might be making all the right noises about staying, but a return south could be very tempting for the player.

Hopefully this isn’t one rumour that develops any further.
