Finally, the second Old Firm derby is upon us, four weeks later than originally planned but we’ve got there in the end.

Ironically, moved so that Celtic had more players available and yet it is Rangers who will have the stronger of the two squads going into the game, regardless of whether or not they take the ridiculous decision to make two of their players play international football then travel half way round the world to play the next day as well.

Our biggest miss is, arguably, that of Filip Helander – honourable mention for Alfredo Morelos – scorer of the winning goal the last time the two teams met but the tactics and respective game plans will have changed significantly since then with Celtic potentially having an entirely different midfield and forward line, although it would be a surprise if Jota doesn’t make his first start of the year.

Last weekend saw a four-point swing at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, Rangers could have been six points clear but two late goals contrived to see the lead cut to just two in what is building up to be a monumental Old Firm derby.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has had a few critics to answer recently after dropping points against Aberdeen and Ross County but he remains unbeaten since returning to the club, a run he will be hoping to extend at Parkhead tonight.

He has a strong squad with decent options on the bench and no excuses, how he sets his team up could well decide the outcome of this game – fortune, should, favour the brave.
