On Saturday Rangers confirmed that Michael O’Halloran had made the loan move out to St Johnstone.

The midfielder makes the move until January but there’s no talk of whether or not it will then become a permanent deal based on the confirmation from the official website.

Having joined us from his new loan club back in February 2016, he leaves Rangers temporarily with 20 starting appearances and 17 substitute starts, and in that time he returned three goals.

The spell certainly hasn’t seen the 26 year old replicate the kind of goalscoring form he showed for St Johnstone and it’s not a great surprise to see him move on but many would’ve expected a permanent deal not a loan.

Hopefully he’ll have a good half a season with them and either work his way into Pedro Caixinha’s plans or boost his attractiveness to others.
