Rangers got all three points here at The Falkirk Stadium today but it wasn’t without a scare when ex Ranger Russell Latapy came back to haunt his old club with an equaliser.

Rangers made three changes to the side with Olivier Bernard making his comeback and Nacho Novo and Kris Boyd also starting the game.

It was a bit of a lacklustre display from Rangers in the first half as they obviously had their mind on the midweek trip to Spain to face Villarreal.

Falkirk had the first chance of the match. Liam Craig had a great shot at goal from a Twaddle throw in but it went just wide of goal.

Rangers first chance came when Prso got his head on the end of a Steven Smith free-kick but it went just over, Rangers then nearly got the lead via an own goal by Jack Ross but his header was prevented from going into his own net by his goalkeeper.

Rangers best chance of the first half however fell to Dado Prso just before half-time when his header came crashing off the cross bar.

Chris Burke was brought on at half-time to and breathe some life into the Rangers team and he caused lots of problems for Falkirk early on in the second half, he set up Kyrgiakos at the back post but the defender couldn’t find the net.

Rangers got the breakthrough though in the 56th minute and it was goal machine Kris Boyd who grabbed the goal. It came from a Barry Ferguson free-kick, the Rangers captain floated the ball into the box and found the head of Kris Boyd who fired the header home from six yards.

Falkirk got an equaliser ten minutes later thanks to their old player Russell Latapy. Latapy was put through on Ronald Waterreus and the midfielder kept his cool to slot the ball past the Gers keeper.

It wasn’t long until Gers regained the lead and it was an own goal by Twaddle that put them ahead again. Prso fired a shot at goal and Twaddle managed to put the ball into the back of his own net in his attempts to clear.

So Rangers get the three points and it’s a good boost ahead of the vital game against Villarreal midweek.
