Rangers fans didn’t really get a chance to see much of Nnamdi Ofoborh after his transfer was announced from Bournemouth, but it doesn’t look like we should have any fears over the 21-year old’s arrival.

Former Aberdeen midfielder, Jack Grimmer, who was Ofoborh’s team-mate at Wycombe Wanderers, has given a glowing appraisal of what we can expect when the Nigerian youth cap arrives at Ibrox, as reported by The Scottish Sun:

“Nothing seems to faze or fluster him.

“He doesn’t get too worried about anything, and that is a trait you need when playing for one of the big two in Scotland.

“There are a lot of similarities between Nams, Aribo and Kamara — and I think he’ll be a success like those two lads. Nams played in a few different roles at Wycombe from holding midfielder to a box-to-box operator.

“He has a terrific range of passing as you’d imagine from someone who has come through at Bournemouth.

“He knows how to find a pass which is a big asset in terms of how Rangers play.

“He is a proper powerhouse midfielder and not one who shirks a tackle. Fans will take to his commitment straight away.”

Versatile, a good passer and loves a tackle, what’s not to like? He’s a signing that has very much gone under the radar seeing as there was no big presentation of the player or interview with him when he signed, the fact that injury prevented him from helping Wycombe stay in the Championship also didn’t help the perception of him – it looked, from a distance, that he simply wasn’t getting selected.

How many players do Rangers have at the Euros this summer?

We’ve seen what Steven Gerrard has done with the likes of Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo and Ryan Jack, I bet he can’t wait to get his hands on Ofoborh given the attributes he already has at his disposal.
