According to the Daily Record, Kyle Lafferty has received an offer from Thai side Buriram United but he has rejected their initial offer to leave Ibrox.

The striker appears surplus to requirements this summer and it looks as though Steven Gerrard is happy for him to move on for this season.

However, despite an offer coming in from the South East Asia side, he has rebuffed their first advance.

The race for him is not over, though, with the report claiming that the outfit will come back in for him with an improved offer – so it remains to be seen if he decides that is more for him.

The striker has got quality but he perhaps is not good enough now for where we want to head.

He’s free to look for a new club but it needs to work for his family as well, and it remains to be seen whether a move to Thailand would be in all of their interests.
