Obstacle placed in the way as Rangers hunt 31-y/o arrival

General view of Ibrox

Rangers will be looking to sign several players this summer as Steven Gerrard aims to close the gap to Celtic in the title race.

The Gers have certainly got a good foundation to build upon for the new campaign and the boss is going to be eager to add in the right areas to catch the Hoops.

Left-back is an area we need to look at, then, but it appears the challenge to sign Martin Olsson has got that little bit harder.

The Swedish international is a free agent and would be a powerful arrival to come into that side of the defence but according to the Sun on Sunday yesterday, he is not overly keen on a move to Scotland.

Indeed, they report that, actually, he’d prefer a move to an English club over a switch to Ibrox and that may be a bit of an obstacle for us.

However, surely we can persuade him with the prospect of a title challenge rather than meandering around in the second tier of England.
