I’ll be honest I had to check the club wasn’t playing a late April Fools joke on us when they released this status on Twitter:
Unleash Frenzy. Introducing the #PUMAFuture & #PUMAOne from @pumafootball. #NewLevels pic.twitter.com/JMACTnRn7M
— Rangers Football Club (@RangersFC) April 2, 2018
It appears, though, that they weren’t and that they are, in fact, promoting green boots on their main social media account.
It is, of course, far from the worst thing in the world that the Gers could do and they are obliged to promote products like these when they come around but it surely could have been thought out a little better.
It’s a perfectly normal thing for fans to get a bit wound up about their main rivals’ colours being promoted – think Ronald Koeman with his red Christmas tree that year – and this is about as obvious as it gets.
Naturally, then, it’s caused a bit of a fuss on social media and so let’s take a look at the best of what has been said among our fan base…

Launch those in the bin.
And whoever thought Rangers promoting green boots was a good idea, launch them as well.
