No worries for fans – Report completely rules out exit of Rangers favourite this summer

|

There’s no danger of midfielder Scott Arfield leaving Rangers for Southampton this summer, according to The Daily Record.

Reports emerged yesterday from The Daily Mail that the 30-year-old was a £3m target for the English Premier League side, who were said to have been impressed with Arfield’s form in Steven Gerrard’s team this season.

However, The Record say that Saints are not in fact interested having checked out the rumour.

Arfield has three years left on his contract at Ibrox and appears to just be getting started as a Gers player.

He’s made 42 appearances this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting 7 more, emerging as a real fan favourite in the starting eleven.

The Canadian international stunned supporters with a classy hat-trick against Motherwell at the weekend, deployed in a new left flank role that he thrived in at Burnley.

Many have predicted the tactical switch could become permanent and fans are excited to see what he can achieve in that new position.

He has the experience and versatility to be a big player next season and there should be no thought of the club selling him to anyone unless a crazy offer is made.
