As far as responses go, this one didn’t miss the target.

Often referred to as ‘shots fired’, Nikola Katic hit back with precision at overnight reports that he was set for an Ibrox exit after the club had supposedly sanctioned his departure.

This evening on his social media, the Croatian defender mastered the art of subtely with a concise remark.

With this defiant response, also comes a clear pledge.

Katic desperately wants a future at Ibrox and he has the ambition and determination to realise that aim.

Now he needs to prove his fitness as well as his ability given that there are legitimate questions over those aspects of his game.

The rest is not up for debate given the superior attitude, work rate and mentality that the 24-year old possesses.

There is also the not so small matter of the Old Firm winner to break the Parkhead hoodoo in December 2019 that ensures Katic is, and will remain a cult hero.

Only time will tell if the central defender can become a permanent fixture at the heart of the Rangers backline, but in his mission he has the best wishes of the Rangers support already on his side.
