On loan Newcastle striker Haris Vuckic has said that his job is to score goals and he was delighted to find the net on his debut, but he was obviously disappointed with the scoreline and to see the club go out of the Scottish Cup.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Vuckic preferred to focus on the positives as best he could because he knows the run out would’ve done him well, it will help him adjust to Scottish football better and of course the goal was good for his confidence, so with longer working with the team on the training ground – hopefully things can only come together better and we can be successful.

‘I’m happy that I scored but I am disappointed about the result, in cups it is all about the winning so to lose hurts. It was a lovely ball from Kyle and I just had to take a good touch and find the corner and hope it went in and then I was celebrating. I was very pleased to score, it gave me a bit of confidence and for a striker it is always good to get a goal because that is my job.’

Vuckic goes on to say that we do however have to create more opportunities during games, and he sees himself as a creative player as well as a goalscorer so that’s something else he wants to chip in with, but that’s where working with the players more will help things click.

‘We’ve only known each other for three or four days. We are only going to learn more about each other as time goes on and we will get better together.’

With 3rd place Hibernian up next on Friday, Vuckic says he’s relishing that encounter because he already knows how important that game will be to our promotion hopes so hopefully it’ll be a good week in training, we can bounce back, and get the win.
