The new Ibrox pitch is starting to take shape as pre-season draws nearer.

In four weeks time, Rangers will host the visit of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on the 17th July with another home friendly expected for the following week.

The expectation from the club and fans is that the new surface will be intact and ready to go for the start of the full season when Rangers begin their Premiership defence, against Livingston on 31st July.

The games come thick and fast in August, with Champions League qualifiers set to highlight.

As featured earlier by Vital Rangers, SIS Pitches are leading the pitch transformation.

For too long now, especially during Steven Gerrard’s reign, the Ibrox pitch has just not been up to scratch and has deteriorated badly in the harsh Glasgow winter and the deluge of rain that it usually brings.

With a significant investment, there will be a deman that this work will fix the problem for good – the fans and especially the players deserve a surface to be proud of and to be conducive to the best possible standard of football.
