Steven Gerrard’s Rangers opened their Scottish Premiership campaign with a draw away to Aberdeen on Sunday, conceding in stoppage time to surrender a well earned one goal advantage.
It was a frustrating afternoon for Gerrard and his men, who had to play the vast majority of the match with ten men after striker Alfredo Morelos was sent off after 12 minutes for a kick out at defender Scott McKenna.
The Gers created the chances to win the match but were not clinical enough in the final third, having to rely on a James Tavernier penalty to open the scoring.
Defending well against the home side, they failed to consistently turn that into attack, clearly suffering from the man disadvantage.
Fans did have criticism for some players, with new signing Jamie Murphy singled out more than others. Fans felt he was wasteful in possession and didn’t provide his team with the out ball they required.
Signing on loan in January, he made the permanent switch to Ibrox after Gerrard arrived at the club for a significant fee, and fans are looking for more from the investment.

Said it time & again I dont rate Jamie Murphy at all certainly not for £1m. Him & Windass constantly let them have the ball back cos they with are too fucking scared to jump up for a challenge.
Overall I'm not concerned with us this year they were very lucky today

Tavs still not a captain, murphy escapes criticism that Windass would get slated for

I was very impressed with Scott Arfield today. A very good box to box midfielder. And his close control in tight spots is fantastic. Coulibaly looked like he is still short of match fitness. Not impressed with Murphy or Windass. Decision making and poor finishing again.

Windass was poor today but all i'm seeing is cunts using him as the punch bag. Murphy was worse!
