Rangers fans are not keen on signing Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie this summer after watching him in action for the Scotland national team on Thursday.
The 27-year-old was given the nod at left-back after injuries to Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney, but produced a terrible individual display that contributed to a humiliating 3-0 defeat away to Kazakhstan.
Having played the vast majority of his matches in midfield over the past couple of years he was played out of position, but fans reckon the display was proof enough that Steven Gerrard should stay well clear of the player, despite being available on a pre-contract.
Reports have linked the Rangers boss with a pre-contract move for the Dons man.
The Gers already have plenty of midfield options though and despite signing Aberdeen’s captain would be a blow to them, ultimately he would not improve our side.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on potentially signing him…
A hope Gerrard was watching Shinnie tonight, he’s rotten, never a Rangers player. We need new hero’s to worship, no ex players coming back as it ain’t worked. Get your scouting network ready Rangers some decent player av watched in euros tonight, from Eastern Europe

Again though, none of this excuses the fact that Shinnie was rank rotten today. There are Rangers fans who want to sign him; I am not one of those fans.

Gives me the fear that Shinnie could potentially be playing left back at some point for Rangers next season.!!
