Rangers finished the decade the way they started it with a victory over their Old Firm rivals in the last fixture before the Scottish Premiership winter break.
A well deserved 2-1 win after goals from Ryan Kent and Niko Katic either side of Odsonne Edouard’s controversial hand-ball deflection puts the Light Blues just two points behind their city rivals with a game in hand, at home, against Ross County.
Steven Gerrard and his men showed no ill effects from the recent Betfred Cup final defeat and dominated play for most of the proceedings.
Much of the talk after the match was, despite the victory, about whistler Kevin Clancy’s performance after a series of bizarre decisions in a performance he will want to forget.
Will Rangers now kick on and win title number 55?
Yes
No
The Ibrox faithful weren’t going to have their party ruined though and took to twitter to celebrate the first win on enemy soil since 2010.
The ref tried his hardest to put a spanner in the works scandalous…..get in there WATP !!!!

Heroes. Absolute heroes. Not one bit of luck went in our favour and disgraceful refereeing decisions against us, again. Every single player in blue was utterly magnificent. #WATP

As with last season, Rangers fans will enjoy the winter break that little bit more with an Old Firm victory to savour for a few weeks, they will be hoping for more of the same when they return to action and maintain the pressure on Celtic.
