‘My hero’ – 25-year-old is the reason Rangers have made so much progress this summer

Connor Goldson celebrates scoring for Rangers

The progress Rangers have made this summer is quite remarkable.

In the wake of damaging defeats to Celtic at the tail-end of the Graeme Murty ‘era’, many fans were left wondering where the club could possible go from there.

Step forward Steven Gerrard, a man who has brought his winning mentality in to the club in a thrilling way.

His signings look to have mostly been superb but there’s one that rises above the rest and that’s defender Connor Goldson.

Embarrassing slip against Motherwell aside, the 25-year-old ex-Brighton & Hove Albion man has been absolutely crucial since his arrival in Glasgow.

He’s arguably been the most important player on our run to the group stages of the UEFA Europa League and his presence in the defensive line has transformed what was a shaky looking side into a cohesive unit ready for all tests.

If we are to get anything from tomorrow’s match against Celtic, he will be at the heart of it.

These fans have taken to Twitter over the last 48 hours to share their joy at his impact…
