Not long to go now before Ibrox is rocking and the Gers, I reckon, will be making this title race official.
It`s easy to get completely consumed by all that the Old Firm entails at this point of the week and so, whilst I`d love to indulge some more, I`m going to go for a slightly different angle for this piece.
It does, however, spring from a clash with Celtic and so, here I`m discussing why I`d like Kyle Bartley to come back to the club in the summer.
We all know his battles with Scott Brown are something that have gone down in recent folklore and with us edging ever closer to dethroning them, it`d be nice to see more of that from our squad in these games.
With Graeme putting together a relatively younger team, though, I just wonder who`s going to look to rough them up and give it back.
Of course, we`ve got players like that in the squad but, if we`re going to start winning the league again, we could do with a couple more.
They say, of course, never go back but we`ve managed to get some success from certain players having a second spell and I think Bartley would fit into that category.
When Leeds failed to sign him permanently I was certainly excited and perhaps hoping we`d go in for him because I didn`t see him playing for Swansea.
That, of course, didn`t happen but we`re in a better position to bring him back now than we were in the summer and, typically, he`s still not playing for the Welsh club.
For sure, for a player like him there is bound to be interest. He is a leader and gets in where it hurts but if we come calling, he won`t turn us down.
He was at the club just before it all blew up, but now we`re returning to where we were and he`s a better and more experienced player, surely, it`s time to sort some unfinished business.
Would you take Kyle back?
