Graeme Murty also had praise for Daniel Candeias following victory over Partick Thistle at the weekend and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has spoken of his delight at keeping a clean sheet in the game.

Taking the three nil victory at Ibrox with goals coming from Ross McCrorie, Candeias and Josh Windass, Murty wanted to pick out our second goalscorer for particular praise as well as it wasn’t just McCrorie who had impressed him.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media post game, he explained.

‘It`s fantastic for him to get his goal. I thought his run for Jason Holt was brilliant and he moved people out the way really well. So I`m really pleased for him because he needs to start believing in himself and his ability. I think he could be a major threat in the final third if we can get him more consistent and get him running at people because he`s got a trick, he`s quick and he puts really good balls in the box. So we could make more use of him I think.’

With Windass getting the third on the day to ensure we took all three points, he added.

‘We just have to identify with Josh what he is brilliant at, because he`s got many attributes and we have to make sure we harness those attributes in a positive manner to affect the game. I think we could use him more, we could definitely get him to appreciate spaces behind the backline more because he`s very quick. He finishes very well in training, we just need to make sure we are getting him into those situations more often and if he does that he`s got a good finish as we saw today.’

With the international break now upon us once again, he explained that plenty of hard work would be done after a quick rest as we had to back up our last two results with more wins.

‘It entails some rest, some recuperation, some individual practise and some individual maintenance. There`s going to be a behind closed doors game for those that need game time. But it`s going to be tailored to meet their specific needs. If they have played lots of games we will take that into account, if they have not played as many we`ll be making sure they get exactly what they need so we`re ready for the next game.’

Reflecting on the clean sheet, Foderingham said in his own interview.

‘We wanted to start the game really fast, and I think we did that. We scored three good goals and we haven`t had too many clean sheets this season, so it has been something we have been trying to improve on, and thankfully we got one today.’

McCrorie came in for praise following his own contribution on the day.

‘Since he stepped up to the first team, he has done really well. He is a really level-headed young man and he took his goal really well too so I am pleased for him.’

The stopper also had praise for Murty.

‘It`s been good. He did a fantastic job last time and the boys really enjoy having him in the building. He`s a breath of fresh air and the boys are really looking forward to the next few games.’
